So we grade rather than assert. Independence is a spectrum, not a binary — DORA is rigorous research funded by Google Cloud, and saying so is more credible than pretending otherwise. Every document carries its tier and its funding disclosure, and answers tell you when they lean on the lower tiers.

A research product is defined as much by what it refuses to index. These exclusions are enforced in code and in the database, not in a policy document — the source registry structurally cannot accept them.
